The Senate, is comprised of student Senators, who are elected each spring. There are two Senators from each of the seven colleges and six at-large members for a total of 20 Senators. They are responsible for writing legislation, approving the actions of subsidiary boards, and authorizing the appropriation of funds. The Senate also serves as the Board of Directors of the corporation. Every year there are new leaders creating new ideas and working hard to continue to propel ASI to the next level of student service. The Senate meetings are every other Wednesday at 3:30pm in the Anna W. Ngai Alumni Center. The meetings are open to the general public and begins with a general opinion period, where members of the gallery can speak to the Senate. The Business & Finance Committee develops and recommends to the AS Senate policy in the areas of finance, human resources, and the administration of business affairs between the Associated Students and other parties. The Board also prepares and recommends to the AS Senate the annual operating budget of ASI. After the annual budget has been approved, the Business and Finance Committee is responsible for monitoring and recommending modifications to the budget. All action of the Business and Finance Committee is subject to AS Senate approval. The Business and Finance Committee is chaired by the ASI Vice President of Finance.

The University Student Union (USU) and Student Recreation & Wellness Center (SRWC), Board of Trustees (URECBOT) is responsible for the oversight of the USU and the SRWC as well as the programs that benefit all students of Long Beach State University. (LBSU). 

URECBOT is made up of five elected student-at-large officials which includes the ASI President, Executive Vice President, Vice President of Finance and Associate Executive Director/USU and SRWC Director as well as senate, alumni, faculty and staff representatives.
