Long Beach, Calif. – Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) at Long Beach State University (LBSU) proudly presents the opening of the dedicated and newly named Laurén Chalmers ’83 Beach Pantry. Through a transformational gift from alumna Laurén Chalmers, we are privileged to dedicate the beloved ASI Beach Pantry in tribute to Chalmers’ enduring legacy.

One by one, students pulled up in their cars, parked and waited on masked-volunteers to pack their trunks with bagged groceries Friday in the parking lot in front of Brotman Hall

Although the on-campus Beach Pantry remains closed for the fall, Long Beach State’s Associated Students, Inc. is continuing to provide students with access to the pantry’s services through a drive-through event each Friday afternoon.

In its weekly pop-up event Friday, Associated Students, Inc. provided about 200 students with produce and non-perishables at its pop-up Beach Pantry program.

The Associated Students Inc. Beach Pantry hosted a one-day pop-up market Tuesday to offer assistance to students after President Jane Close-Conoley sent out an email calling for the reduction of use to the University Student Union.
